Elle Fracker

Elle Fracker enters her fourth season at the helm of the Davis & Elkins softball program in 2023-24.

Coach Fracker guided the Senators to a 29-28 overall record in 2023. D&E went 20-12 in the Mountain East Conference, ultimately falling to the University of Charleston in the MEC Championship game. The 2023 squad earned a berth in the NCAA Softball Championship Tournament for the first time in D&E program history. Fracker had three players earn Second Team All-MEC honors, Linzey Allard, Honesty Holt, and Lina Gutierrez.

She posted 26 wins in her previous season at the helm, competing in two closely-contested games in the MEC tournament to close out the 2022 campaign. Fracker worked with NFCA All-Region Second Team and All-MEC First Team honoree Mia Mendoza, who capped her freshman season with a .372 batting average, six home runs and 40 RBIs.

A former student-athlete at the DI level with coaching experience at DI, DII, DIII and NAIA institutions, Fracker becomes the 13th head coach in program history. Fracker arrives in Elkins following nearly one year as the recruiting coordinator for USA Athletes International in Colorado, where she was responsible for recruiting coaches and players to play their sport internationally. Fracker previously spent the 2015-19 seasons as the head softball coach at Division II Fort Lewis College (RMAC), where she coached the program's first All-American and helped the team maintain a grade point average over 3.3 each semester. Fracker oversaw all aspects of the Skyhawks program, including budget management, scheduling, practice planning, recruiting, community service and camps/clinics. Fracker was an assistant coach at Valley City State in North Dakota from 2012-13 before becoming its head coach in August 2013. She guided the Vikings to the program's first regular-season championship in 24 years in her first season at the helm, while also overseeing the Valley City State student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) and implementing it for the first time in department history. Fracker earned Coach of the Year accolades at VCSU from the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) in 2013. She also held positions as an assistant coach at Drexel (2008-10) and an assistant coach/resident liaison Oberlin (2010-11) before arriving at VCSU. Fracker was a four-year letter winner in softball at Indiana State as the team's primary catcher for three seasons before graduating with a bachelor's degree in Recreation and Sports Management in 2008. She interned with the Philadelphia Force, a women's professional softball team in Allentown, Pa., in 2008, where she worked closely with the team's owner and general manager.

“I had the pleasure to play for and coach alongside Coach Fracker at Fort Lewis College. She brings energy and excitement to the field, while teaching her athletes to be respectful, dedicated and competitive! From day one, Coach Fracker changed the program by raising the expectations for our team and pushing us to strive for greatness. I loved every minute playing for Elle and became a better player my senior year under her tutelage. When I had the opportunity to coach with Elle, I learned so much about what it takes to be a coach. Her commitment to the team on and off the field was inspiring and as hard as it was for me to hang up my jersey, Coach Fracker showed me how rewarding coaching softball can be. Coach Fracker will lead her team to success as elite softball players who will end their careers ready to tackle whatever life will bring.”
