Emma Thrift is the Head Coach at Sarasota High School

As a Sarasota native, I have been surrounded by the sports culture here my entire life. I have played volleyball since elementary school at Incarnation Catholic School, and I then began my High School career at Riverview High School. I played both Varsity Indoor and Beach Volleyball, being on both teams when we competed in the Final Four and State Championship. My Senior year of High School is when I fell in love with coaching volleyball, having two travel teams and assisting Annie Howard at The Classical Academy for Indoor and for her SRQ Beach Volleyball club. As I went on to college, I played Beach Volleyball for Florida State University’s club team - a competitive coed team that required wins in order to make profit. I continued coaching volleyball while in school, coming home and coaching a 14s national team and mini season during all four summers. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Marketing, I returned to Sarasota and coached Indoor and Beach Volleyball full-time at The Classical Academy of Sarasota, where I coached Middle School, JV and was the Assistant Varsity Coach for Indoor and the Head Coach for Beach Volleyball. This year, I am now the Head Coach for the Varsity Indoor and Beach Volleyball team for Sarasota High School and I am the Head Coach for a 15s national club Indoor team for Sarasota Volleyball Club
