Eric Alford

Eric Alford has been playing and coaching basketball for over 30 years. He most recently was the assistant basketball coach at Fred Lynn Middle School in Woodbridge, VA. He has also spent several years as a basketball coach, mentor and teen director at the Boys and Girls Club #11 of Greater Washington, DC.

Coach Alford received a full basketball scholarship to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. At VCU, he was a standout basketball player for four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

He is a graduate of Crossland Senior High School in Maryland, where he played basketball for four years, three of which he played varsity. Coach Alford led the Crossland Cavaliers team to their first 3A state basketball championship. He also received numerous honors such as High School All American, All Metropolitan Honors and was selected to the all state and all county basketball teams.

Blessed with an opportunity to coach Basketball, Coach Alford cherishes every minute and every experience that comes with it. He is a coach that believes in family values, old-fashion hard work and the importance of developing the basic basketball fundamentals. His passion is to assist in developing youth in basketball as well as teaching them life skills.
