Erin Mc Donnell St Marys Md

Erin McDonnell joined the Seahawk athletic family in August 2015 as the women's lacrosse program's 13th head coach. In August 2017, McDonnell was named the department's Senior Woman Administrator. In February of 2020, McDonnell was given the title of Assistant Athletic Director.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

  • Head Coach, St. Mary's College of Maryland (2015-present)
  • Assistant Coach, McDaniel College (2012-2015) - Helped to mentor one IWLCA All-American, seven IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region picks, and 10 All-Centennial Conference selections
  • Club Coach, Ravens Lacrosse Club (2011-2015)

AS ST. MARY'S SENIOR WOMAN ADMINISTRATOR

  • Serves on the athletic department's executive team
  • Co-advises the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
  • Attends Capital Athletic Conference council meetings
  • Assists the AD with strategic planning and the administration of department policy
  • Serves as the liaison to the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDEs)
  • Strategizes ways to support and manage gender equity, Title IX plans, and issues

  • 47-34 (.580) career record in five seasons
  • One NCAA Tournament appearance
  • Four CAC Tournament appearances
  • 2016 CAC Runners-Up (regular-season and tournament)
  • Ranked nationally in the Top 25 four out of five seasons (2016-2019)
  • Reached No. 10 in the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll during the 2016 season
  • Received three consecutive IWLCA Academic Honor Squad awards (2016-2018) after maintaining at least a 3.0 cumulative team GPA

  • Tori Poffenberger '16 led CAC in goals (46) in 2016

  • 69 student-athletes named to CAC All-Academic Team (through 2020)
  • One CAC Rookie of the Year

PLAYING CAREER

  • Three-year starter at McDaniel College as a defender
  • Ranks Top 20 in program history in ground balls (102) and caused turnovers (41)
  • Team captain and team's most valuable defender as a senior
  • 2011 IWLCA All-Metro Region Second Team
  • 2011 All-Centennial Conference First Team
