Greg O'Neil

Greg O’Neil is a USPTA Elite Professional and has been coaching junior and adult tennis players for over 25 years.

Using more of a cooperative coaching style, Greg can share in the learning process with his students thus making it more of a team effort. Through the communication of simple concepts and strong visual demonstrations, he helps each player understand the game of tennis rather than only follow a given number of pre-set rules.

Growing up and learning the game of tennis in the western suburbs of Chicago, Greg spent most of his weekends competing in local, regional, and national tournaments. Soon after junior tennis came to an end, Greg accepted a scholarship to Northern Illinois University where he played #1 singles and #1 doubles. Following college, he went on to earn a world tennis ranking on the pro circuit.

Greg’s body of work is very broad, it includes everything from teaching club level junior and adult players to working with high performance juniors and intermittently assisting and working with former high school state champions, NCAA champions and world ranked players.

Having just moved to Libertyville, Greg has been enjoying his down time with his wife Nikki and two children, Brody (7) and Maisie (5) exploring new parks, bike trails, restaurants and taking in some Wildcat high school sporting events.
