Ivy Shepherd serves as a coach for the Nike Junior Golf Camp at University of Virginia.

Following an outstanding amateur career, Ivy Shepherd has joined the James Madison women’s golf team as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season, Head Coach Tommy Baker announced on August 30, 2023.

“We are very excited to add Ivy to the program,” Baker said. “Her elite playing experience and knowledge of the game will undoubtedly help elevate this program to another level.”

Shepherd arrives in Harrisonburg after an outstanding collegiate career at Clemson and Kentucky, having spent four years with the Tigers before moving to Kentucky as a graduate transfer for the 2022-23 season.

Originally hailing from Peachtree City, Ga., Shepherd was a two-time First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree at Clemson and holds three of the top nine single-season scoring averages in program history, having finished her career there with an impressive 72.87 average.

She played her way inside the top 40 of the Women’s World Amateur Rankings, earning an invite to the prestigious 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur prior to her graduate season.

In her season at Kentucky, Shepherd was one of only three players to play all 33 rounds for the Wildcats, leading the trio with a 73.8 scoring average and tying for eighth place at the Clemson Invitational in a return to her undergraduate alma mater.
