Jacob Carrillo

Jacob Carrillo is the Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach at Trinity University.
Coach Carrillo came to the Trinity campus from his alma mater, Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. He served as the assistant coach for the Yellow Jackets men’s and women’s tennis teams from 2014-2016. The versatile Coach Carrillo also was Howard Payne’s Sports Information Director’s Assistant Intern for two years.
He was the coordinator and tennis instructor for McAllen Parks and Recreational, in McAllen, Texas, in the summer of 2013. Coach Carrillo headed the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) program, which included a traveling competitive tennis team.
Coach Carrillo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard Payne in December 2014, in communication, with a minor in general studies. He was a four-year letter winner for the Yellow Jackets men’s tennis team, and received two awards in 2013: the Yellow Jacket of the Year, and the Sportsmanship Award.
A native of Lytle, Texas, Coach Carrillo is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports and wellness leadership from Howard Payne.
