Jamie Houston-Flemings is a distinguished volleyball professional whose career encompasses elite athletic performance, national team experience, international competition, and over a decade of dedicated coaching.
Jamie Houston-Flemings is a distinguished volleyball professional whose career encompasses elite athletic performance, national team experience, international competition, and over a decade of dedicated coaching.
Jamie first made her mark in high school as a two‑time Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year and led her team to multiple state championships. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Houston-Flemings made an immediate impact at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where she emerged as one of the most prolific offensive players in program history. During her tenure with the Rainbow Wahine, she became the all-time career kills leader, earning All-American honors, multiple All-WAC selections, and national recognition for her athleticism and consistency on the court.
Following her collegiate career, she was selected to compete with the USA Volleyball A2 Team, representing the United States in elite national-level competition. Her professional career has taken her overseas, including to Puerto Rico, where she competed for Criollas de Caguas, one of the top clubs in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino.
Beyond her playing career, Houston-Flemings has amassed over 10 years of coaching experience at the club level, mentoring and developing young athletes with a focus on fundamentals, discipline, and performance. She also served as an assistant coach at Grace Prep, where she played a pivotal role in guiding the program to a state championship.
Jamie Houston-Flemings continues to be a respected figure in the volleyball community, known not only for her impressive achievements as an athlete but also for her passion for teaching, leadership, and dedication to the growth of the sport. Jamie is married to Roderick Flemings, a former All-American basketball player, and together they have two children: Roderick Flemings Jr. and R’Manii Flemings.
