Jesse Moore, who has more than a decade of collegiate experience at both the head and assistant coach level, has agreed to become an assistant coach for the Cal women's swimming & diving program.

Moore served as head coach of the Dartmouth men's and women's swimming & diving team last year, which followed earlier stints on staffs at Minnesota, Northwestern, Duke, William & Mary and Drexel starting in 2008.

During his season at Dartmouth, Moore brought in one of the best recruiting classes in program history and coached his student-athletes to four school records and 37 all-time top-10 performances.

Prior to his move to the Ivy League, Moore spent three seasons as the associate head coach at Minnesota, where he focused on coaching swimmers in the middle distance and individual medley groups and led the team's recruiting efforts. Over his tenure, the Golden Gophers had 38 NCAA qualifiers and 25 All-Americans, including 2019 Big Ten 500 free champion Chantal Nack and Mackenzie Padington, who finished third in the 500 free and 1650 free at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Both Minnesota teams finished among the top 20 in 2019, with the women 11th and the men 19th. The Golden Gophers also broke 19 school records, four Big Ten records, earned 69 Academic All-Big Ten accolades, 43 CSCAA Scholar All-America honors and team Scholar All-America recognition over his three years.

Moore was previously the associate head coach for women's swimming at Northwestern (2016-18), overseeing recruiting, fundraising, coaching all training groups, managing team travel and running the social media accounts. The Wildcats were top-25 teams in 2017 and 2018, placing 21st and 22nd, respectively, at the NCAA meet. The team broke 23 school records, earned 14 Scholar All-America individual honors, and had 11 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars with GPAs over 3.7.

As the assistant coach and director of recruiting at Duke from 2012-16, Moore recruited three consecutive top-15 classes and saw 21 student-athletes compete at NCAAs and break 103 team records. As the assistant at William & Mary (2010-12), he coached 10 CAA conference champions and three 2012 Olympic Trials qualifiers.

Moore got his start as the graduate assistant academic advisor at Drexel in 2008, where he advised students from the swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, wrestling, field hockey, rowing, women's lacrosse and softball programs, while also volunteer coaching with the swimming & diving teams.

Moore swam at William & Mary and graduated with a degree in neuroscience in 2008. He went on to get his master's in public health, health management and policy from Drexel in 2010 before returning to William & Mary for his master of business administration in 2014.
