Joanna Patterson is the Assistant Coach at Chaminade University
Joanna Patterson joined the Chaminade University women's volleyball team as a volunteer coach during the summer of 2022.
The former Joanna Christenson played one season at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, leading the Thunderbirds in both assists (969) and service aces (25) as a freshman while also totaling 234 digs, 51 blocks and 30 kills. Her 59 assists in 2013 against Northern Arizona is the second-most for a five-set match in school history. However, ACL injuries in both knees the next two years prematurely ended her playing career.

Patterson prepped at Kamehameha-Kapalama, helping the Warriors to a runner-up finish in the 2012 Hawai'i High School Athletic Association Division I Championships.
She currently coaches for the Ku'ikahi Volleyball Club and is completing her Master's at CUH in Counseling Psychology and an emphasis in School Counseling with Community Pathways.
Her brother, Micah, has been a member of the United States Olympic Team since 2013, helping Team USA take the bronze medal in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
She is married to Don'Yeh Patterson.
