Joe Amaral

Joe Amaral is the Skagit Valley College Head Volleyball Coach.
Joe Amaral begins his 2nd year as the Head Coach of the Volleyball Program here at Skagit Valley College. He is a graduate of [Bellarmine College Preparatory & Western Washington University] and has previously coached at Bellingham HS (2) Squalicum HS (5), and Skagit Island Volleyball Academy (8). As the cardinal head coach he inherits a program that had 54 wins and [ 0 post season wins] over the past 4 years.
Joe has 16 years playing experience. He competed for the Bay to Bay Volleyball Club and Bellarmine College Preparatory as a setter/libero in San Jose, Ca. His Senior year of high school they finished #5 in the nation with a 39-2 record. He was played 1 year at Western Washington University as a setter, tied for 5th at Nationals for Division 2 schools. Joe still competed around the PNW as much as possible, with many competitive tournament wins.
