Joe Licata

Assistant Coach

Joe Licata - Assistant Coach

Pace Men’s Lacrosse welcomed Joe Licata as an assistant coach in July 2023. Licata, a former Division I student-athlete at Binghamton, has had a wealth of experience coaching at the club, high school and collegiate levels.

Most recently, Licata was a volunteer assistant coach with Stony Brook, helping the Seawolves to a 2022 Colonial Athletic Association championship appearance in 2022.

Prior to Stony Brook, Licata spent time on the club level with the Rebels Lacrosse Club in Plainview, N.Y., as their director of training/recruiting. In that role, he was responsible for building relationships with families, players, and other lacrosse organizations. In addition, he served as a liaison between athletes and college programs, and initiated player development and on-field IQ growth through innovative skills training.

He served as the varsity lacrosse offensive coordinator at Walt Whitman High School in South Huntington, N.Y., from January 2019 through May 2021. During his time with Walt Whitman, he orchestrated the offensive plan of attack and was responsible and the mentorship of young student-athletes.

Licata was a member of the Binghamton men’s lacrosse from 2015-2019. He was a team captain as a senior in 2019 and finished his career sixth all-time in points. Over the course of four seasons with the Bearcats, he tallied 100 points on 63 goals and 37 assists. He was named to the America East All-Rookie team in 2016. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature.
