As a graduate assistant with the Florida State men’s basketball program, he played a critical role in player development, video analysis, and organizing recruiting visits. His key duties included creating film edits and scouting reports, coordinating facilities and team travel, and assisting with the planning and execution of basketball camps.
Long’s basketball journey began as a student manager at West Virginia, where he assisted the coaching staff in a variety of operational and developmental roles. Long was involved in the creation of scouting reports, game planning, practice execution, and facility setup. He also took on leadership roles as the site director for WVU’s Team Camp, which hosted more than 90 high school teams, and as the assistant director for youth camps, overseeing a 400-participant camp.
