Joe Riordan
Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs Coach
Joe Riordan joined the Lawrence University football staff in 2024 as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach. Riordan comes to Lawrence after six seasons at Wabash College in Indiana where he served as a co-special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.
During his time at Wabash, Riordan was part of back-to-back North Coast Athletic Conference championships in 2018 and 2019 while compiling a 37-14 record. Riordan coached numerous all-conference and all-region players.
Prior to Wabash, Riordan served as the defensive coordinator at Anderson University in 2017. Riordan also served as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach at Webber International University in 2016. The Warriors led the nation in pass defense and ranked 15th in total defense.
A 2011 graduate of Ball State University, Riordan earned a bachelor's degree in sports administration. Riordan and his wife, Sarah, have two sons, Miller and Morris.
