Joey Carroll

Joey Carroll returns to Gettysburg College as an assistant coach, bringing a strong foundation of experience, perspective, and passion for the program he once played for and helped elevate as a student coach.

Most recently, Carroll spent two seasons (2023–2025) as a Graduate Assistant for the University at Buffalo Men’s Basketball Program. At Buffalo, he played an integral role in all aspects of the program—breaking down film, assisting with scouting reports, player development, and providing in-game strategic input. He also led individual workouts, tracked analytics, and managed the team’s recruiting database. In addition, Carroll directed the Bulls' social media strategy and collaborated with marketing staff to enhance program engagement.

Before Buffalo, Carroll served as a Student Assistant Coach at Gettysburg from 2021–2023. During his time on staff, the Bullets achieved one of the most successful stretches in recent history—earning their highest postseason seed since 2011, back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2016, and their best non-conference record in over a decade.

In the summer of 2023, Carroll served as Head Coach of the Jersey Force 16U HGSL team, leading them to multiple tournament titles while guiding several players toward collegiate opportunities at the Division I, II, and III levels.

A former Gettysburg player (2016–2018), Carroll holds a B.A. in Political Science from Gettysburg College (2022) and is completing his M.A. in Education from SUNY Buffalo (expected 2025).
