John Buck

Coach Buck has been a member of the LuHi Summer Programs team since his days as a high school student at LuHi. He attended Wake Forest University and played four years on the mens basketball team, along with NBA stars Chris Paul and Josh Howard.

After graduating, Coach Buck returned to LuHi as a mathematics teacher and assistant boys varsity basketball coach in 2007. In 2010, he became Head Coach for the program. Over the past decade, Coach Buck has worked every summer in our basketball camp. He loves the warm weather and finds joy in helping young players improve their skills while having fun. During the school year, Coach Buck has led his teams to 3 New York State Federation Championships. His teams in 2019 and 2020 finished the season with Top 10 national rankings. Dozens of players have graduated from LuHi and have gone on to play college basketball at UConn, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Villanova, and more!
