John Schiel - (The Lawrenceville School) - This is John’s 27th summer as Director of the Nike Softball Camp at Lawrenceville and this fall will be his 52nd year as a math teacher at the school. He has been the only Head Varsity Softball Coach in the 37 years since the school became coed and he earned a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University in 2005.
His Lawrenceville teams have won 5 NJ Prep A State Titles, most recently in 2021 when John was named Trentonian Mercer-Bucks-Burlington County Area Coach of the Year by the Trentonian who ranked Lawrenceville #4 out of almost 50 HS teams. It was the highest ranking ever for a Prep School softball team and the 1st time a Prep School softball team finished in the top 10 since Peddie was ranked #8 in 2004. John’s 2019 Big Red were named Prep School “Team of the Year” by the Trenton Times.
