John is currently the Athletic Director, soccer coach, basketball coach, and middle school Humanities teacher at the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning.
Coach Stene and his wife currently reside in Denver, Colorado. Coach Stene earned a degree in English and Spanish at Pacific Lutheran University in Washington, and a Masters in Education at the University of Denver. Travel is a passion for Coach Stene, as he has lived, volunteered, and taught in various countries throughout South America and Scandinavia. John has worked with NBC Camps as a Site Director, Master Teacher, and International Tour Team Coach since 2007. Coach Stene has coached high school basketball in Montana, and was an assistant college coach for the women’s basketball team at Seattle Pacific University.
