Towers began her coaching career at Millsaps after a standout career at the University of Connecticut and a coaching stop at Delta State University. For her career, Towers hit .329 with 211 career hits in 641 at-bats. She also connected on 44 doubles, six triples and 28 home runs with 106 RBIs for the Huskies in 200 career games.

As a senior in 2011, the Goodlettsville, Tenn., native was named team captain while appearing in 48 games, all starts, for UConn. She made the switch to shortstop in her final year, leading the team in hits (54), runs (32), RBIs (42), doubles (14), triples (3), home runs (11), total bases (107) and slugging percentage (.699). For that phenomenal senior season, Towers was named NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-Region First Team and All-BIG EAST First Team

Along the way, Towers tied the UConn single-season home run record (11) while ranking second all-time in with 44 doubles, fourth all-time with 106 RBI, second all-time with 28 home runs and third all-time with 351 total bases. Her .329 career batting average ranks eighth all-time at UConn as well.

As a junior, Towers started all 51 games of the season and recorded a team high .320 batting average in a team high 172 at bats. She the squad in hits (55), runs scored (39), doubles (13), home runs (9), total bases (97), plate appearances (188), runs batted in (26), slugging percentage (.564) and on base percentage (.372).

Blossomed on the field as one of UConn's top performers during her sophomore campaign, recording a team high .369 batting average while finishing with 62 hits, 10 doubles, two triples and seven home runs.

Towers played in all 50 games during her freshman season starting each of them. The hard-hitting middle infielder finished the year with a .270 average on 40 hits, sending home 15 RBIs.

During her career at White House High School, Towers earned four letters as the starting shortstop. She was named the WHHS team MVP in 2007 after being named to the All-District 8-AA team and All-Middle Tennessee Coaches Association First Team. She also claimed three varsity letters in soccer while excelling in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club.

Towers earned her bachelor's degree in communications for the University of Connecticut in May. She pursued a master's in sports administration from Delta State.
