Graduate Banks High School - 2006. Immediately went into coaching ranks in 2007 as one of the youngest coaches, starting at Gaston HS coaching JV baseball. After one season he joined the staff as Varsity Assistant from 2009-2011. Began coaching youth JBO in 2011 at 2nd/3rd/4th grade. 2012 were Minor (2/3/4th grade) State Champions.
Coached a mixed core for 5 years at youth levels. Second stint at Banks from 2013-2014 as an assistant at the Varsity level. 2015 joined FGHS as a JV Head Coach under current Cincinnati Reds farm league pitching coach, Todd Naskedov. Those two years were tremendous for Justin’s development. Took over as head coach of FGHS in 2017. Three straight seasons of improvement as we were 1-15, 5-11 (5-11 campaign included a play in win and a playoff matchup with #1 Clackamas where FGHS fell 2-0) and 8-7 in league. Covid seasons derailed the slow growth but excited to be back to full health and a full season in 2022 and 2023.
