Adelphi University Director of Athletics and Recreation Danny McCabe appointed Keith Ferrara as the first full-time Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Panthers in September of 2014, elevating his title to Director of Sports Performance at the beginning of 2022.

“Keith brings an extensive strength and conditioning background both on the collegiate and professional levels. Additionally, as a former student-athlete he understands the time demands placed on our students and he shares our goal of developing the whole student-athlete."

Coach Ferrara previously worked as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist for the United States Tennis Association Player Development in Flushing, N.Y. Since 2011, he was responsible for the management of an entire strength and conditioning program for one of the three major training centers of the USTA as well as the development and implantation of those programs for professional and elite junior tennis players. US Olympians Varvara Lepchenko and Christina McHale were among the athletes Ferrara worked with.

Previously, Ferrara spent nearly three years as an Intern, Volunteer Assistant, and Graduate Assistant under the Head and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches at Hofstra University. He also worked as a Sports Performance Coach at the Frozen Ropes Training Facility in Syosset.

Ferrara earned both of his degrees from Hofstra, as he graduated in 2011 with a B.S. in exercise science with a minor in Psychology followed by an M.S. in sports science in 2013. He also played defensive back for the Pride football program during the 2007 and 2008 seasons and was a three-time CAA All-Academic honoree.

Most recently, he added two more certifications to his resume; Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) is now a Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition through the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).

Additionally, Ferrara holds certifications as a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED. He is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.
