Coach Profile

Assistant Coach/Camp Director

Kevin Farrell

Kevin farrell

Kevin Farrell was hired as an MSU Denver men's basketball assistant coach by head coach Dan Ficke in May, 2022.

Farrell helped the Roadrunners rebuild their roster prior to the 2022-23 season, and the team finished 12-17 overall and 9-13 to tie for seventh place in the treacherous Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Farrell served as an assistant coach under Ficke for the 2021-22 season at Belmont Abbey (N.C.), helping the Crusaders to a 22-10 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.

At Belmont Abbey, Farrell assisted with the day-to-day operation of the program, worked individually with the forwards and was in charge of directing the Crusaders’ offense.

Prior to his season at Belmont Abbey, Farrell spent nine years as the director of basketball operations at Division I Loyola (Md.), where his tasks included working with student-athlete support services to build schedules and monitor the academic progress of players, directing all video operations – including breaking down and evaluating Loyola and opponents’ games, and scheduling non-conference opponents.

Farrell had been the men’s basketball manager at Loyola from 2008 through 2012. Ficke played and coached at Loyola while Farrell was on the Greyhounds’ staff.
