Krys Ramsdell - Co-Director

Krys Ramsdell is entering her fourth season as Bridgewater’s assistant field hockey coach. She is also the department’s Coordinator of Student-Athlete Programming and Well-Being.

Ramsdell was originally hired as assistant to the athletic director/assistant field hockey coach following Bridgewater’s selection as a recipient of the two-year NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant. Ramsdell assisted the department in a variety of functions, aiding with the ongoing fundraising for the Nininger Hall renovations and various athletic department fundraising projects.

As Coordinator of Student-Athlete Programming and Well-Being, she works with numerous campus groups including Student Life, the Director of Multicultural Services and Career Services.

Within the athletic department, she works with the Title IX Coordinator to plan student-athlete and staff training, assists the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.)- including with the year-end Golden Eagle Awards banquet, and manages athletic laundry service.

2015 was the best season in the history of the Bridgewater field hockey program, as the Eagles won their first-ever ODAC championship and earned their first NCAA tournament win with a 2-1 victory at #17 Catholic (Ramsdell's alma mater). Bridgewater defeated #15 Lynchburg in the ODAC semifinals and host Washington & Lee in the championship game.

In 2014, the Bridgewater field hockey team reached the ODAC championship game for the first time in program history, and featured a second team All-American in midfielder Caroline Augsburger.

Prior to coming to Bridgewater, Ramsdell most recently served as the intern in the athletic business office at Division I Northeastern University. During her time in Boston, she served a role with compliance and also helped organize account reconciliations, financial analysis and aided in other special projects in the Huskies’ athletics business office.

During her internship at Northeastern, Ramsdell also was the head field hockey coach at Concord Academy in Concord, Massachusetts and also served as the assistant basketball and assistant lacrosse coach.

Before going to Northeastern, Ramsdell worked as a junior admissions counselor and project manager at Worcester State and served as a legislative intern for Representatives James McGovern (Massachusetts) and Niki Tsongas (Massachusetts) as well as with the United States Government Relations International group (USGRI).

Ramsdell owns a Level 2 Coaching Accreditation from USA Field Hockey and is also CPR certified through the American Red Cross.

Aside from her coaching and administrative background, Ramsdell also was a three-year goalkeeper at The Catholic University of America. During her time with the Cardinals, Ramsdell aided Catholic to the 2010 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship and a 17-4 record during the 2010 season.

Ramsdell earned her master’s in sports leadership from Northeastern in April 2014. In 2012, she earned her bachelor’s in history and political science from Catholic.
