La'Kendrick "Ken" Lee - Co-Director

La’Kendrick “Ken” Lee is a native of Ahoskie, NC where he was raised for most of his childhood, before coming to Elizabeth City, NC in 2006 to attend college at Elizabeth City State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He had the opportunity to start on the football team as an outside linebacker/strong safety where he made all conference and contributed on both sides of the ball.

He is the husband of his beautiful wife Tashayla, and they have 3 sons. Sports have always been a part of his life, from an early age. He played football, basketball, baseball, and track all through middle and high school. He made All-Conference, and All-State in high school and was selected to play in the NC East-West All-Star football game. He coached women’s college basketball for 2 years at Elizabeth City State University, where his title was Director of Sports Performance and Assistant Coach. Before and after, he volunteered as a little league football coach for River City Rampage here in Elizabeth City.

He is currently the head football and basketball coach at Elizabeth City Middle School where he also teaches Health/PE. He was blessed with starting his own business called A Greater You Sports Performance Training, and also his own travel basketball organization AGY Prep. AGY provides training in endurance, agility, speed, and mechanics for all sports beginning with ages 6 and up. His athletes have shown improved performance, confidence, and overall athletic foundation. He started AGY to help athletes from small towns become better at their prospective sports. He offers 1 on 1 training, individualized development plans, group sports performance training, and team & organization group training. Training with AGY will help athletes cultivate what is already in them and help them become a greater version of themselves.

This past year, June 23rd he partnered with Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion Lashawn Merrit and Nike with the USA Track & Field Run, Jump, Throw Olympic Day event that's geared towards getting our youth out and moving. His role was to coordinate everything from the location, participants, getting waivers signed, and helping run the event. That allowed Lashawn to show up and work his magic with the kids and the drills that were assigned for them. His passion has always been to one day be able to impact our youth in many different ways, and sports has been his main resource of doing so.
