Les pitched 7 years in the major leagues from 1987 through 1993. He pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. His best season was in 1989 when he played a key role in the Cubs winning of the National League East title. That season, Les compiled a 4-1 record with 8 saves and a staggering 1.36 ERA. For his career, Les was 41-28 with 22 Saves and a lifetime 4.05 ERA. Les stayed in the game after retiring from active play where he’s been a Minor League Manager. In 2000, he was named Baseball America’s Manager of the year. Les has also managed in Taiwan, Panama and Mexico. Les attended Dallas Baptist University and the University of Arkansas. In 1981, Les was drafted by the Yankees. In 1983, he was drafted by the Rangers, and he signed with the Cubs in 1985
