Lindsay Johnson Elmhurst Volleyball

Lindsay Johnson is a Women's Assistant Volleyball Coach at Elmhurst University.

Former Elmhurst All-American Lindsay Johnson is entering her 11th season with the Bluejays, serving as a volunteer assistant volleyball coach.

Johnson helped the Bluejays to their best season in over 25 years in 2012. The Bluejays captured their first CCIW title since the 2004 season and scored a regional championship, advancing all the way to the NCAA Final Four before bowing out of the tournament.

In 2013 she helped Elmhurst compile a 37-5 overall record, its second straight CCIW title and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

In 2014, she helped lead the Bluejays to their fourth consecutive 30-win season and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

In 2015, the Bluejays posted a 24-12 overall record and made its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Johnson spent part of the 2012 season abroad working on a master’s degree at Durham University in England. While at Durham, she played setter for the University team and helped her squad to a league division championship. Johnson also made the Northumbria national team and helped her squad win the national championship, earning MVP honors of the national tournament.

After transferring to Elmhurst following her sophomore season, Johnson enjoyed a stellar two-year career as a Bluejay. She earned first-team all-CCIW honors, and AVCA All-America distinction in each of her two seasons with the Bluejays. She was named the CCIW Player of the Year and earned second-team All-America honors following the 2005 season.

In 2004 she led all of Division III and set an Elmhurst single-season record with 1,837 assists. Her assist total from 2004 ranks as the fifth-highest single-season total in Division III history (under the 30-point rally scoring system). Her 2005 season of 1,503 assists is the second-highest single-season total in Elmhurst history. Her 3,340 assists ranks second all-time at Elmhurst, while her 11.52 assists per game average is an Elmhurst record.

Johnson, who earned her bachelor's degree from Elmhurst in 2006, spent the 2007 season as an assistant coach at Washington and Jefferson College. She was inducted into Elmhurst's Bluejay Backer of Hall of Fame in 2011.
