Lisa Ferrero - Head Women’s Golf Coach, California State University Fresno

Lisa Ferrero is the head women’s golf coach at Fresno State and serves as a support staff member for Next Athletes and Nike Golf Camps.

Lisa Ferrero is entering her third season at the helm of the Fresno State women's golf program. She was named the third head coach in program history on Oct. 12, 2021.

Ferrero coached the Bulldogs to their best finish at the Mountain West Championship, finishing third of the nine-team field in 2022. The third place finish was the team’s best since 2016.

Harriet Lynch was an All-Mountain West selection and made an Individual NCAA Regional Appearance in 2023.

Since 2022, the Bulldogs have had 10 WGCA All-American Scholar selections, six MW All-Academic honorees and six MW Scholar Athletes.

PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE
Ferrero returned home to the Central Valley after spending the 2019-20 season at Idaho. Prior to her stint with the Vandals, she spent two years leading the women’s golf program at Towson.

Ferrero, a native of Lodi, Calif., had the Vandals out to a tremendous start prior to the 2019-20 season being cut short due to COVID-19. Three Vandals earned All-Big Sky distinction, led by First-Teamer Valeria Patino. The program also continued its incredible run in the classroom and earned NCAA Public Recognition for posting a perfect Annual Progress Rate (APR) multi-year average.

Ferrero made an immediate impact on the Towson program. In the first three weeks of her debut season, the Tigers broke every school record and claimed her first tournament title. By the end of the 2018 spring season, Towson took third at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships - the best finish in school history and shattered the program's previous low score at the tournament by 54 strokes.

Ferrero recruited and coached freshman Jordan Cornelius, who earned the program's first individual All-CAA Tournament honor after finishing in third place at the conference championships.

Prior to Towson, Ferrero gained experience working with Hall of Fame coach Chuck Cook on video and swing analysis, using the same technology the Vandals trained with under her leadership. She has also spent the last 10 years teaching professionally in the offseason as a Class A LPGA instructor.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Ferrero is a 12-year member of the LPGA and Symetra Tours, winning two tournaments on the Symetra Tour in 2011. She was also the recipient of the 2014 Heather Farr LPGA Courage Award.

An elite golfer for nearly two decades, Ferrero won the USGA Junior Amateur Championship in 2000 and a year later was named the California Amateur of the Year. She went on to play collegiately at Texas, where she helped the Longhorns win the 2004 Big 12 title and place in the top six at the NCAA Championships three times, including a second-place showing in 2002.
