Maggie Catherina

Maggie Catherina is the Head Volleyball Coach at Goucher College.

2022 marks Maggie Catherina’s second season as the women's volleyball head coach at Goucher College. She was named head coach in December, 2020. Her team has been honored with the AVCA Team Academic Award in 2020 and 2021.

Catherina graduated from the University in 2016 with a degree in general studies. During that time, she played for the Profs from 2012-15. Catherina appeared in 79 matches and totaled 292 kills, 39 assists, 22 service aces, 102 digs, and 118 blocks. In 2015, she was a team captain and received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference honorable mention.

In 2018, she helped lead the Profs to their first winning record since 2013 with a 17-16 mark. Rowan finished 6-2 in the conference and secured the second seed in the NJAC Championship Tournament.

She then served as an assistant coach at Rowan University from 2016-20, and also worked as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Rowan for one year. Catherina helped the Profs increase its win total by 10 wins during her four seasons, while also reaching the NJAC Championship Game in 2019. She coached the first player in program history to reach AVCA All-America status and also coached the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, two first-team selections, six second-team honorees and three honorable mentions. Maggie mentored the team in the classroom to the AVCA Team Academic Award four times. She also served as the Mystique Volleyball Club coach (2015-20), Nike Volleyball
Camp Director (2019-20) and Gold Medal Squared Coach (2018-20).
