Mai-Loni Henson, a former Division I basketball player at the University of Washington and professional player in France, was named an assistant coach for the women's basketball program at Colorado College on August 18, 2023.

Henson joins the CC staff after playing three seasons of professional basketball in France, first for Le Havre Aplemont of the NF1 division, then for ASA Aulnoye in the LF2 division. She was also a personal basketball trainer in Phoenix, Ariz., training children from 6th grade to high school in one-on-one and group settings.

Henson was a four-year letterwinner at Washington from 2016-20, where she served as team captain for her final two seasons. She played in 123 career games, including starting all 30 as a senior, and helped the Huskies to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen as a freshman in 2017. Henson averaged six points and 3.4 rebounds per game during her collegiate career, including a career-high 9.4 points as a sophomore, the second-highest average on the team.

She has also served as head coach of the San Diego Bulldogs Youth Club Team and an assistant coach at her high school alma mater, La Jolla Country Day.

In addition to on-court coaching, Henson’s responsibilities at Colorado College will include player development, recruiting, scouting, team community service opportunities, leadership development, team travel oversight and managing the program's social media.

Henson earned a bachelor's degree in public health in May 2020. She was a member of the Husky Leadership Academy and UW’s Dean’s List as a senior.
