Makenzi Abelman is the assistant coach at the University of New Orleans.
Makenzi Abelman was an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans (NCAA D1) during the 2021 season. Before coaching the Privateers, Kenzi was a student-athlete at Cal State Fullerton. Abelman was the setter for the Titans and racked up 1,126 assists in 61 matches (6.70 per set) and became the 13th student-athlete in program history to reach the 1,000-assist mark. During her high school career, Makenzi was First Team All-Conference, First Team Academic All-State, and Female Athlete of the Year at Durango High School. She has coached Nike Camps at Durango since 2016 and is happy to be back for another summer at her Alma Mater!
