Marcus Dos Santos
Assistant Director
Marcus Dos Santos joined the Eckerd College volleyball program in February 2017. His expertise as both a player and a coach at a high level is invaluable as he works with both the indoor and beach teams.
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dos Santos spent the 2016 season as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn State University. While at PSU, he was in charge of the team's outside hitters and provided scouting reports on opponents for one of the premier volleyball programs in the country.
Before his role at Penn State, Dos Santos was an assistant coach at East Carolina University and the head coach of the East Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club. He has also worked as a coach during camps at both the University of Akron and Ashland University.
Dos Santos entered the coaching ranks after a successful playing career at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne, spending two seasons there under Hall of Fame coach Arnie Ball. Previously, he played one season at both Mercyhurst College and Missouri Valley College, helping lead the latter to a third-place finish at the NAIA National Tournament.
In addition to his indoor expertise, Dos Santos brings professional playing experience on the beach volleyball circuit. He has competed in the National Volleyball League and Brazilian Beach National Tour. He notched a professional win at the AVP Next Tournament in Chicago and placed second at the NVL Rise event in Delray Beach, Florida.
