Marti Hoyt

Marti Hoyt received her B.S. in Mathematics, and her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology from California State University Bakersfield. She has been instrumental in advancing innovative student-centered curriculum within the Kern High School District over the last thirteen years. She has also formally been working to mentor new and pre-service math teachers for the last seven years.

Working with math professionals like Jo Boaler and Pam Harris has led Marti to develop expertise in Data Science and alternative math pathways. She consistently employs additional tools like geometric art, laser printers and 3D printers to incorporate coding, visualization, and design to student learning experiences.
