Matt Hill

Matt Hill is in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the Trailblazers baseball program after a three-year playing career at DSU. During his time at Dixie State as both a player and coach, he has helped lead the program to five-straight regional appearances, and is currently in his second year serving as the catching coordinator.

Hill graduated in 2009 from Pacifica (CA) High School in Garden Grove in 2009, where he was a two-time All-Empire League selection at catcher, and holds two school records at PHS for most base runners thrown out caught stealing in a season (16) and career (30).

After high school, he played one season at Southeastern (IA) Community College and three seasons at Dixie State for former Head Coach Mike Littlewood and current Head Coach Chris Pfatenhauer. During his career at Dixie State he spent time at both catcher and late-inning relief pitcher. Coach Hill currently owns the DSU single-season record for fewest walks/nine innings (1.16) and is ranked second on the single-season lists in ERA (2.03) and t-second in appearances (25).
