Matt Marshall

Matt Marshall is the Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach at Messiah University.

Matt Marshall joined the Messiah men’s volleyball program for its inaugural season in 2017-18 as the assistant coach and is back for his sixth year in 2022-23.

While in college, Marshall began his coaching career as an assistant for Huntingdon High School’s boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams, during which they won two boys’ District VI Championships. Upon graduation, he moved up to head coaching roles, spending the last seven seasons as the head coach of the boys’ teams at Carlisle High School and Red Land High School. At other times throughout those years, Marshall coached teams made up of players from around the state to three Keystone State Games gold medals in boys’ volleyball as well as coaching at Yorktowne Volleyball Club. He has also found success at the collegiate level, spending three years as the head coach of the Harrisburg Area Community College’s women’s volleyball team, where he led them to compete in the NJCAA Region XIX Final Four in all three seasons.

Marshall is a 2010 graduate of Juniata College, where he was a setter for Juniata’s club team. With Messiah, he will be working with the team in all aspects, but spending significant time with setter development and recruiting.

Marshall and his wife Krissy reside in nearby Lisburn.
