Matthew Bennett - Director

Matt Bennett is the head strength and conditioning coach at the Cambridge School of Weston and a personal trainer and nutrition coach at Equinox in the Boston Seaport. Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and furthered his education by completing a master's in applied kinesiology from Bridgewater State University (in progress 5/24 graduation).

Matt grew up in Rockland MA and attended Cardinal Spellman high school in Brockton MA where he lettered in basketball. Matt enrolled at the University of Massachusetts majoring in Kinesiology and gaining experience by interning for the strength and conditioning coach for the Men’s and Women’s basketball team and an internship at Equinox Chestnut Hill.

In 2017 Matt joined the team at Equinox Seaport where he has coached clients at all levels of fitness with an array of goals including; injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, body recomposition, sports performance, and nutrition and lifestyle coaching. He has moved up the tier system at Equinox by completing continuing education and has developed workshops for new trainers focusing on movement screens and exercise programming.

In 2022 Matt accepted the position of strength and conditioning coach at the Cambridge School of Weston where he has worked with every in-season sports team and has provided exercise programs for students, faculty, and offseason athletes.

Matt enrolled in graduate school at Bridgewater State University in 2022 completing courses in strength and conditioning, motor learning, nutrition, and movement analysis. He took on a directed study and final research project analyzing sports specific movements in the Biomechanics Lab at Bridgewater State.
