Matthew Simons is the former head coach of the men's and women's tennis teams at University of Puget Sound.
The 2021-22 year was Matt Simons' fourth as head coach of the Puget Sound men's and women's tennis teams. By the end of that season, Andie Machida received her second-career All-Northwest Conference First Team honor, and men's first-year player Noah Henderson was named to the All-NWC Second Team
In his first season at the helm, Simons led the Puget Sound women to a postseason berth in the Northwest Conference Tournament. Both Lisa Owen and Nicole Bouche received All-NWC honors.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Simons has competed in the USTA Zone Team Championships. Simons played collegiately at Pacific Lutheran, where he made it to the second round in both singles and doubles at the NAIA National Championships.
