Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Megan Burke

Megan burke

Burke will enter her second season with the Stags and will look to help the Stags build on one of the most successful seasons in school history. The Stags advanced to their first MAAC Championship Match in six years after an 11-win campaign. Fairfield earned the number two seed in the tournament with a 7-2-1 conference mark...

A big reason for Fairfield’s five win turnaround was their offense, which saw a big improvement in Burke’s first season. The Stags scored 44 goals in 2019, 13 more than they netted in the previous season. The 44 scores was the most by any Stags team in over a decade.

Burke also helped mentor eight All-Conference selections for the Stags, their most honorees since 2008. Included in that group was two All-Region selections in Gabby Diodati and Stephanie Tsangaris and the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year in Josie Horosky.

Burke's first taste of coaching at the collegiate level came at New Mexico State as she served as a graduate assistant for two seasons with the Aggies. In her first season in 2017, she helped the Aggies to nine victories, just one shy of the program's single season record set back in 2011. Burke helped coach three All-WAC student-athletes during her time with a pair earning a spot on the conference's First Team while also helping goalkeeper Dmitri Fong to an All-WAC Second Team honor during her first competitive season.

Burke played her collegiate soccer along with former Fairfield assistant coach Sydney Stoll at UMass after appearing in 71 matches with 69 starts during her four seasons. The midfielder scored 11 times in her career while also handing out eight assists to finish her career with 50 points.
