Mercy is a highly accomplished international former soccer player and now coach, having represented her country as a three-time FIFA World Cup participant and two-time Olympian. Recognized as one of Africa’s top football talents, she was named African Player of the Year for four consecutive years (1999–2002). Her standout performances also earned her a place among the Top 10 nominees for the FIFA World Player of the Year in 1999.
