Mike Jolly is curently in his fourth season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator of the UNH swimming and diving program in 2020-21. Jolly has been instrumental in the team winning two America East championships (2018 & 2020) during his time at the school. Also in 2020 he was a part of the America East Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Wildcats won their second America East championship in the last three seasons at the 2020 America East Championships. The Wildcats dominated the championships winning 15 of the 20 events and capturing the championship by 116.5 points. Anna Metzler was named an All-American in the 400 IM as she qualified for the NCAA Championships with the 19th fastest time in the nation in the event (4:07.20). Metzler was named the ECAC and America East Swimmer of the Year. Jamy Lum had an outstanding freshman season as she was named the America East Rookie of the Year.

In Jolly's second season, he coached Corinne Carbone to a gold and silver medal at the 2019 CSCAA National Invitational Championships. Anna Metzler was also named the Rookie of the Year at the America East Championships. Also in 2019, Jolly coached eight individual America East champions and one gold-medal relay team.

The Wildcats saw tremendous success his first season winning their seventh America East Championship in program history in 2017-2018. UNH won eight individual and two relay titles at the America East Championships, while the Wildcats earned 25 All-Conference accolades. UNH also won four individual ECAC titles. Senior Liza Baykova won the Most Valuable Swimmer Award after going undefeated at the America East Championships and the ECAC Championships. She set school records with first-place finishes at the CSCAA National Invitational in the 50 free (22.60) and the 100 breast (1:00.99).

Jolly arrived in Wildcat Country after spending two seasons at Old Dominion. While at ODU, he was responsible for all domestic recruiting, planned and executed all unofficial and official visits and traveled to club, high school and national level meets across the country. He coached seven NCAA B cut qualifiers and a student-athlete that competed in the NCAA Championships as well as the Olympic Trials in 2016, placing 17th in the 200 butterfly at both events. Jolly’s swimmers also hold 14 varsity records at Old Dominion.

Prior to his time with the Monarchs, Jolly was an assistant coach at his alma mater, East Carolina University where he graduated in 2013 with a degree in recreation and leisure studies. While an assistant coach at ECU, he helped guide the Pirates to their first-ever American Athletic Conference title and the school’s first conference championship since winning the CAA title in 1989. As a student-athlete with the Pirates, Jolly was a four-year letter winner and recorded the fifth-fastest backstroke time in school history. He spent the summers coaching Tanterra Swim Club in Olney, Md. and the Hydro-Sonic Tiburones in Rockville, Md. He grew up swimming for the Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC).
