Mike Jordan

Coach Jordan has been on the Grossmont College staff since 1991 where he started as QB coach under his father, Hall of Fame Coach Dave Jordan.

Coach M. Jordan was named Offensive Coordinator in 1994 and developed an easy to learn offensive system that was versatile in both scheme and utilization of personnel. In the last two decades the Griffin Offense has consistently ranked in the top 10 statistically in the state and #1 in 1998, 2003, 2005 and again in 2013. He has also developed an impressive list of QB’s throughout the years who have been awarded scholarships to D1 programs including: Washington State, Oregon, Arizona State, Nebraska, SDSU, UNLV, Western Michigan, UAB, Alabama State, Northern Arizona and Indiana State. D2 schools include CSU Pueblo, Ambrose State, Malone U and Bethel. This list includes Pac 10 player of the year and 1999 1st round NFL draft pick Akili Smith (Oregon) and 2014 top D2 QB prospect Chris Bonner (CSU Pueblo). Coach Jordan’s coaching philosophy is to teach the “tangibles” and make mechanics, technique, and reactions second nature through quality repetitions of practice, consistency and hard work
