Mike Louis

Mike Louis enters his second season as the Trinity College Head Women's Tennis Coach in 2023-24. Louis guided the Bantams to an 8-9 dual record in 2022-23, its most dual victories since 2013-14, while Ella Baker '25 was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team last spring. Louis arrived at Trinity with a wealth of experience, most recently as head men's and women's tennis coach at Springfield College where he was named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis Coach of the Year in 2021.

Louis graduated from UConn with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology/Strength and Conditioning in 2005 and went on to earn his Master's degree in Sport Management in 2007. During his time as a student-athlete with the Huskies, Louis was a four-year letterwinner and served as a team captain, in addition earning three Big East Conference All-Academic Team recognitions.

Louis began his collegiate coaching career as a student assistant coach during the 2004-05 season for the UConn Huskies while completing his 5th year, and served as the assistant coach of men’s tennis from 2005-10. As the head men's tennis coach at UConn, Louis led the Huskies from 2013-17 and helped develop a culture that allowed for a pair of student-athletes achieve ITA Division I men's national singles rankings for the first time in program history, while also having the highest team GPA among all UConn athletic programs on two occasions.

Louis coached at the University of Hartford in 2011 as head men's and women's tennis coach and became the head men's tennis coach at his alma mater in 2013. Louis coached at UConn for four seasons and was an assistant coach at Quinnipiac University for one year before becoming head coach at Springfield in 2018. Louis' Pride women's team reached the NEWMAC Finals in 2021 and the NEWMAC Semifinals in 2022. He has also served as the head tennis pro and manager at the Hartford Tennis Club since 2015.
