Mike Mendoza Southeastern U Baseball Camp

Mike Mendoza came to Southeastern during the summer of 2019 and has been an integral part of recruiting and game planning for the Fire over the last three seasons.

Following the 2021 season, Mendoza was named the NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year by the ABCA and helped lead the program to the 2022 National Championship.

Mendoza joined SEU after four seasons as an assistant at Faulkner University. Faulkner appeared in the Avista-NAIA World Series each of the four years of Mendoza's tenure with the Eagles.

"Mike is a proven winner and recruiter. He will be a tremendous asset to our staff and help us maintain a high-standard of excellence within the program," commented head coach Adrian Dinkel.

Mendoza started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Iowa Wesleyan University in 2013. In 2014, he was hired as an assistant coach at Ashford University, and after two seasons moved into the same position at Faulkner.

A native of San Gabriel, California, Mendoza was a two-year letterman at Glendale Community College and two-year letterman at Iowa Wesleyan University, all as an infielder. He was named WSC Player of the Year and a CCCAA All-American at Glendale and MCC Player of the Year and NAIA All-American at Iowa Wesleyan.

Mendoza also played two seasons of professional baseball, one in the Frontier League and another in the Pecos League.

He holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from Iowa Wesleyan.
