Nike Camp Mike Steuerwald

Mike is entering his eighth season as a professional softball coach.

He began his professional career as an assistant coach for the Rockford Thunder in 2009 and then served as the Bandits assistant from 2010 to 2013. He was honored as part of the NPF Coaching Staff of the Year in 2010 as an assistant to Head Coach Mickey Dean and helped lead the Bandits to their fifth regular season Championship in six seasons. As an assistant coach under Darrick Brown in 2011, he helped guide Chicago to their second NPF Championship as a franchise. In 2014, he was named the Head Coach of the Chicago Bandits and proceeded to win back-to-back Cowles Cups.

Prior to joining the Bandits, he served as the Head Coach at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, California before heading to Elon University to serve as the assistant softball coach until 2013.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, he graduated from Marantha Baptist Bible College with a degree in Physical Education. At MBBC, Steuerwald played both baseball and football, and was a two-year captain for the baseball team.
