Paul Fischer

Paul Fischer is a consultant to Blue Chip Sports Management and Tennis Emeritus in the areas of Expansion and Tennis Professional Program Development.

Paul hails from Hershey, PA, where he was a four year High School tennis starter and then went on to start on the Carnegie-Mellon University tennis team. After graduation, he continued to pursue tennis while in the USAF, playing on USAF Tennis Teams, in service tournaments, and participating in the All USAF Ten

nis Camp. During those years, he became involved in the Burke Centre tennis community. He served as head of the Burke Centre Conservancy’s Tennis Committee from 1979-1987. In 1987, he helped to form the Burke Centre Tennis Association and assisted the HOA in building and renovating courts, hiring pros, and setting up programs for all residents; he has been an officer ever since. Paul has directed the BCTA Junior Tennis program since 1989.

In 1993, he joined the Robinson Tennis Team as coach and discovered his passion–coaching high school tennis. His Boys teams have won 18 district titles in 19 years as well as 7 regional titles with 14 trips to the state tournament, reaching the state finals in 2001 and culminating in three consecutive state championships in 2006–2008. As Head Coach of the Rams Girls Team, he led the ladies to 4 district titles in 11 years as well as a regional championship. Many of his players have gone on to play at the college level, including several All-Americans and NCAA Doubles Champions.

Between 1995 and 2010, he served as Tennis Director of Burke Racquet & Swim Club where he administered all tennis programs. Paul has also been on the staff of Springfield Golf & Country Club, he is certified by the Professional Tennis Registry and is a Master Racquet Technician with the United States Racquet Stringers Association.   • USTA/Virginia’s State Tennis Coach of the Year, 2006
  • Named Virginia’s State High School Tennis Coach of the Year, 2005
  • Northern Region Coach of the Year, 2001 & 2005
  • Voted District Coach of the Year in several seasons
