Paul Ramsey, previously the Head Coach at SBCC, UCSB, Pepperdine University, College Of The Holy Cross and Assistant Coach at Hofstra University, Director for Santa Barbara Lacrosse Camp & 805 Lacrosse Project.
Ramsey's UCSB teams won the WWLL Championship five times and were runners-up or successful in the league tournament third place game another six times. The Gauchos qualified for the WCLA National Tournament in nine of ten seasons and were national runners-up in 2013. Following his first stint at UCSB Ramsey moved east to coach at the NCAA Division I level at College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts. The Crusaders made the Patriot League Tournament three times out of five under Ramsey and garnered upsets of Boston College, Bucknell, Colgate, Duquesne, Hofstra, Lehigh and UConn during regular season play. From there he assisted at nationally ranked Hofstra University on Long Island for two seasons. The Pride were eventually ranked 15th in the country while he was assisting in Hempstead.
A move to become head coach at Pepperdine University in Malibu pulled Ramsey back to California. Under Ramsey, the Waves went from unranked to 19th ranked in the WDIA, now called the WCLA. When the UCSB position opened up after three years at Pepperdine Ramsey again became a Gaucho. His 2008, 2009 & 2012 UCSB teams won WWLL championships while the 2010 were runners-up and the 2011 team won the 3rd place. In 2013 the Gauchos marched all the way to the national championship game before losing to four-time champion Colorado State.
Ramsey switched gears in Fall 2016 and took on the role of Director for 805 Lacrosse Program. The program coordinates youth lacrosse, travel teams and tournaments in the Santa Barbara area.
