Robert Taylor started his playing career at Neumann-Goretti under Head Coach Arrigale and played guard on Ireland's UL Eagles Limerick basketball team. While playing overseas on the Eagles, he played in the National Cup for the Irish League Championship and was awarded MVP of the National Cup. Coach Taylor had also been named two-time Player of the Month for the Eagles.
While playing at N-G, Coach Taylor helped lead the team to its first championship and was also a South Philly Review Athlete of the Year. After N-G he played at Rider University and was a team captain by his sophomore year and year 3 starter. He was also a MAC Champion finalist while at N-G.
