Rodrigo Satizabal

Rodrigo Satizabal, a native from Cali, Colombia, came to the United States for a better education and opportunities. While In Colombia, at an early age, he fell in love with the beautiful game.

Coach Satizabal started playing at four years of age at ex-professional soccer players academies (i.e. Willington Ortiz, Hernan Dario Herrera, Saulo Hernandez, etc.). At the age of 10, he joined Escuela Carlos Sarmiento Lora. When he was 12, he started playing in the youth system for Deportivo Cali, the professional team in Cali. After moving to the United States, he joined the Norwalk High School team. Following graduation, he played two years for SUNY Westchester before transferring to the University of Bridgeport. He also played for the NY Red Bulls U-20 team, The Westchester Flames (PDL) team, AC Connecticut (PDL) and many other Semi-Pro/Amateur teams he currently plays for.

Rodrigo started his coaching career 11 years ago at youth, travel, premier, high school and academy level. He currently holds a ASCENFUTBOL PRO License (equivalent to "USSF") and works for Revolution United FC (Fairfield, CT) and Greens Farms Academy (Westport, CT). He has also coached for NY Red Bulls Academy, JA Elite Academy, DV7 Academy, Team Excel, Ridgefield High School (Ridgefield, CT) as the Boy’s JV Head Coach as well as the Boy’s Varsity Assistant Coach and Norwalk High School (Norwalk, CT) as the Girls JV Head Coach. With an outstanding background as a player and over 10 years of coaching experience, he brings both his passion and his expertise to the field, to help young athletes succeed and achieve. Soccer is his passion and with that comes the enthusiasm and energy that it takes to teach children the basic skills, fundamentals and fun of the sport. He is also fluent in Spanish, so he can adjust his teaching style to fit the players needs.
