Ron oliver

Ron Oliver, Head Basketball Coach at NSU University School for four years, brings over 20 years of coaching experience at both the college and professional levels. Oliver served 12 years in the NBA as an assistant coach with the Philadephia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors.

Prior to NSU, Oliver worked at Florida Atlantic University as the Director of Basketball Operations in May 2014 before being elevated to assistant coach in the spring of 2016.

Oliver served as an advanced scout for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2011-13. Prior to the 76ers, he served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Ball State University for 2010-11, a season that the Cardinals posted a 19-13 record.

In addition to his tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers (2011-13), he spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons (2007-09). As Assistant Coach, Oliver organized team practices, developed scouting reports, and game plans, and designed training routines, and pre-draft workouts, geared towards enhancing athletic performance. Oliver also served as the team's video coordinator from 1999-2003, working for Head Coaches Alvin Gentry, George Irvin, and Rick Carlisle.

Prior to the Detroit Pistons, Oliver spent three seasons with the Indiana Pacers under Head Coach Rick Carlisle. As the Pacers video coordinator/advance scout, Oliver was responsible for the preparation of scouting reports and game plans, as well as leading team practices and shootarounds.
