Ryan Kardok - Co-Director

Ryan Kardok joined the Florida Southern staff prior to the 2023-24 season and helped the Mocs to 2 consecutive NCAA appearances. In 24-25 the Moccasins finished with a 26-9 record along with a 2nd place finish in the SSC conference as well a first-round win in the NCAA Division II Regional Championship.

Kardok and staff assisted with developing Jadin Booth (1st team all-conference), Alex Steen (1st team all-conference/defensive player of the year), and Peyton Gerald (1st team all-defense).

In 23-24 he helped guide the Moccasins to 23 wins and advance to the NCAA Division II Regional Championship (Sweet Sixteen). Kardok and staff also played a key role in developing Luke Anderson, who earned All-Sunshine State Conference First Team honors and was named a D2 All-American.

Prior to his arrival at FSC, he served as the Director of Player Development at USF in 22-23. Kardok helped USF make one of the biggest offensive improvements in the country from the previous year. USF had the largest improvement in points per game and the 2nd biggest improvement in FG% and 3P% in the nation.

Kardok was the head coach at Parrish Community High School from 2020-22. He guided his team to a 20-8 record in 2022, marking the first 20-win season in program history. Kardok helped guide Parish to back-to-back district championship games for the first time in school history while his squads also finished in the top-6 in the state for team GPA both seasons. For his efforts, Kardok was named the District 16 4A Coach of the Year.

Kardok served as an assistant coach at James Madison University from 2019-20, working under Coach Louis Rowe.

He served at Bowling Green from 2015-2019. For the Falcons, Kardok began as a video coordinator in 2015-16, served as the director of basketball operations from 2016-19 and also had a stint as interim assistant head coach from February-July 2018.

Kardok’s coaching career began as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami from 2013-15 where he was mentored by Naismith Coach of the Year Jim Larranaga.

“I have known coach Kardok for over ten years. He is inquisitive, intelligent, and extremely positive. One of his best attributes is his ability to connect with players and staff members, as he has a gift of making people feel comfortable and valued. He is a hard worker and has great passion for the game of basketball,” Larranaga said of Kardok.

Kardok played his college basketball at the University of South Florida.
