Sal is a former private coach for both ATP and WTA touring tennis pros as well as the top 50 juniors in the U.S. and Mexico. He is the former Head Tennis Coach at the University of Our Lady of the Lake for 14 years. He held #1 in the world singles ranking by the International Tennis Federation in Men's 45 and over and Men's 50 and over. Sal represented the United States 18 times in World Championship Senior Team Cup competition as a player and 4 times as coach with 3 world championship wins.
Sal was featured in Sports Illustrated “Faces in the Crowd” for being the only man to win four USTA National Men’s Doubles titles with four different partners, on four different surfaces in the same year. He holds a combined 60+ national tennis singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles in the USTA. In 2022, he won a national Pickleball tournament in his first tournament entered: National Indoor in Birmingham, Alabama, 65+ Men's Singles. He is a certified USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) tennis professional. Sal is the founder of Safer Sports USA a non-profit whose mission is to provide analytic tools to assist coaches with safe training tools to enhance physical and mental performance.
